you could use a keylogger, not only will you know which sites, but everything that is typed

is it a shared pc?

you could just click on "history" and it will list by day or week which sites have been accessed.

Unless of course he deletes his browsing history

the internet - met my hjubby on it, but you know i think it causes more problem than it is worth.

Why are you wanting to spy on him? If you're concerned, talk to him. My ex had a keylogger on me and it was very creepy, it's cyber-stalking. Is this the person you want to be?

If you don't trust him, you should think about ending the relationship. Spying on a partner is never a good idea. Talk to him. Either he is disinclined towards monogamy (and if he's repeatedly lying about it, then he is disinclined to monogamy and WON'T CHANGE) or you are unreasonably paranoid - either way, it's unhealthy and fannying around with spy gadgets will corrode your relationship and your self-respect.

To deal with the technical question first...

The browser history will tell you where he has been unless he is deleting the history or you are using the latest version of some browsers. Internet Explorer 8, for example, has an InPrivate mode in which no history is recorded and all cookies, etc. are deleted at the end of the session, leaving no evidence of which sites have been visited. Of course, knowing he has visited chat sites won't tell you what he is doing on them.

Keyloggers and other spyware will give you that information but should be detected by any antivirus software on the PC. Use of keyloggers and spyware may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act.

Even if it were easily possible and legal, I would not recommend spying on your husband. If you only trust him because you are spying on him, that's not really trust at all. And how do you think he would react if he found out you were spying on him?
