DH and DD are CONSTANTLY arguing. She is 15, she doesn't go out, has no hobbies or anything so is stuck in the house 24/7 (apart from school which she hates as she has no friends).

Anyway she gets bored and starts tormenting. As I'm walking past she'll scream "MASSIVE GIANT BUM" etc. I'm like "you're 15, act it" and ignore her. DH on the other hand flies off the handle, starts shouting and balling at her, she shouts and balls back and it's like a warzone.

One example was christmas day. DD was sat on the sofa and I was short of spaces to sit so I said to DD "could you go and get a chair from the kitchen and let me sit there please?"

DD replied "why can't you get a chair from the kitchen?" (she said this as a genuine question, she didn't shout it or anything) DH then flew from the sofa and shouted "FORGET IT!!! I'LL GET A CHAIR FROM THE KITCHEN!!! DON'T MOVE YOUR LAZY ARSE FOR GODS SAKE!!" DD then of course started mouthing off back "FOR GODS SAKE!!! I WAS JUST ASKING!!! I'LL GET A CHAIR!!! I WAS GOING TO ANYWAY!!!" DH then goes on "NO!! FORGET IT!!! DON'T YOU BOTHER YOURSELF WHATEVER YOU DO!!!"

etc and this was all in front of christmas day guests.

Last night:

DD: "Fat bum"
DH: "Chip pan head"
DD: "OH FOR GODS SAKE!!! YOU CAN'T EVEN TAKE A JOKE!!!"
DH: "NO!!! YOU CAN DISH IT OUT BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE IT!!!"

ffs, it's like living with a pair of 5 year olds.

How frustrating for you!

Family meeting with new house rules about respect and adult bahaviour, from them both! I would get DH on side first and make him think its for her benefit, but of course its for him as well.

Longer term she needs a hobby, is there anything she could do? Is there anything you could send them both out to do, to help ment their relationship together a bit? Fishing? Um, lol.
