Hi

I consider myself a single parent to a 3 year old little girl, I have a boyfriend who is a waste of space, we have both been trying to set up our own business but he is out all day 6 days a week doing his thing and then does his kick boxing all day Sunday and is still bring in no money. While Im at home with my daughter really struggling, financially and emotionally. He's never takes my daughter out and is full of "i'm going to change" but never does and we continue to argue over the same crap over and over again, with nothing changing, we have come to the end of our relationship.

My mom used to look after by daughter a couple of hours a day every other day so I can work on the business but she is so difficult to get along with its easier for us not to go their because she adds to my stress.

But then this leaves me with my dream. I have started a business called Girl Friends where I help teenage girls using NLP but I have no time at all to run the business and no money to put my daughter in to day care while I run my business because the business isn't earning any money and the government wont help because Im not earning yet.

How can I move my life forward and make a happy health home for me and my daughter whilst realising my dream without any support form anyone? I know your going to say get a job but thats why I decided to become self employed in the first place because I could find work. Plus, I really want to give the business 12 to really make it work. Please help!

get rid of your partner if he is waste of space and you feel like a single parent

contact business link and they can put you in touch with relevant organisations who can help you get started..

what is your partner doing 6 days a week if he is not bringing in any money or starting up the other business?

He should be working on his business 6 days a week, and its been 12 months now and nothing.

As for business link, I saw them when I was setting up my business but now its ready to roll, I have everything I need to start trading except the time. I have to work during the day because I will be working in schools so thats when I need the support. Im so pissed!

If you are working, self-employed, and a parent, you can get tax credits and a contribution to childcare costs.
I certainly think you should get rid of the partner - is he dd's dad, or ot? If he's not, then just get rid of him.

Yes he is by daughters dad but I don't think that means anything right now, having him here makes our quality of life worse and I don't want that for me or my little one.

Regarding tax credits, I know that this sounds really stupid but I always thought that if you are not earning any money that I would not be entitled to tax credits that would contribute to my child care costs, but I have just done some research and I think I may be, fingers crossed.

I think it takes talking to someone else to make you see something that is right under my big nose. Thanks you so much for your support this morning. You have made my day.

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Its the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feelings, language and behaviour to produce the results they do.

A key element of NLP is to change our unique internal mental maps of the world which are a product of the way we are raised and changing them instantly.

In short, NLP changes the way we filter and perceive information. Its the same stuff that Paul Mckenna does.

Its funny that I do NLP but I still haven't got it all sorted, but we all have our off days.

I spend day in day out with my little girl and she wont give you a moment. I think she is picking up on my stress and playing up even more. And having no money to pay bills also ads to the stress. But I am so cool now after speaking to you lovely ladies, you have made my day.

And you are so fabulous!

NLP is another fancy name for what both therapists and con artists know - how people behavie is a mixture of instinct and thinking about it, and you can adjust the balance. However, being good at using NLP-type stuff is one of those things like having a sense of direction or good pitch - if you have the talent it can be polished, if you haven't got the 'it' then you can't be tuaght it.
