I am not posting this in bereavment because today I am thinking of her with a smile on my face as I remember all that she did for us, which I can appreciate all the better now that I am a mother myself.

I am remembering all the happy times of which there were so many..camping trips, singing together, sunday drives. Life was not perfect and neither was my mum but one thing I know is that she remains one of the most selfless people I have ever known. She put so much into looking after my brothers and myself even working nights and still being there for us in the day where things were tight.

I remember her beautiful singing voice, the way she used to call me 'toots' and I even smile when I think of how she could make you stop and behave with just one look.

So for those of you out there who have lost you mum I hope that you are able to think of her with a smile - it can take time and it may always be tinged with a little sadness but memories are a wonderful thing and I hope you can treasure them like I do.

Ah yes the drunken maudlin thing! Been there too but I think it is healthy to do that sometimes as well. The important thing is not to bottle it up. Talking about her whether you are feeling sad or laughing about somthing funny that happened helps to keep her memory alive.

One thing I often laugh about is the time we were staying at a caravan we had and my mum had nipped out to the loo. My dad had built a small shed which had a chemical toilet in it just outside the caravan. So mum had gone to the loo and we were all just sitting there when she came flying back in the door squealing and tripping over the trousers which she hadn't yet managed to pull up fully. She said she was sitting on the toilet (in the dark) when she felt somthing scurry down her leg. Upon investigation we found that it was the loo roll which had fallen from the shelf and rolled fown her leg!

Happy Birthday Schneebly's mum.

What a gorgeous looking lady. Very sad.

Hope you are ok, all of you that lost your mum's so young.

I hope that every time you smile at your memories, your mum is smiling at you and your families too.

Schneebly didn't see the pic of your gorgeous mum yesterday. You sound like you've taken after her a lot, she'd be very proud. (or in my belief is very proud)
