A light hearted thread

Last week, my DH bought himself a lightsaber. As if this wasn't bad enough, he has not put the bloody thing down since.

He keeps chasing me around with it, jumping off the sofa in "Anakin style" attacks, talking in daft Darth Vader voice and generally just being a pain.

It was mildly ammusing at first but when the dog comes charging into the bedroom hacked off at being cast as "Chewbacca" for the 4th time, DS whinges that dad keeps calling him "young skywalker" and even 8 month old DD gets cast as Yoda (and subsequently poked with the lightsaber!) it starts to get a bit irritating!

And if he whacks me with it again, I'll be shoving it up his bum!

He's at work now and the light saber is lovingly displayed on the bedroom drawers - no doubt it will come into action again when he gets home.

Good job I love him! anyone else with a babyish DH? mine is 35 btw!

DH gets upset if I forget to buy him his Scooby Doo birthday and likes doing Scooby impressions to anyone he meets. He keeps attempting to get dd1 to like Scooby, but she is too into HSM and Hannah Montana to care.

Fotunatey Scooby was not mentioned when choosing the name for our new pup.

pmsl, dh keeps "borrowing" ds's lightsabre. ive never understood why the men all want to be the jedi's when Han Solo is clearly the best male character!!

UmSami · 09/03/2009 11:00

pmsl...I will not be letting dh anywhere near this thread...it'll only encourage him

ChoccyMonster · 09/03/2009 11:07

haha DH keeps suggesting that he buy DS (10) a lightsaber so they can "fight" ...

DS turned around and said "no, it's childish!" poor DH.

PMSL too, funniest thread I've read in a while (waves to UmSami from other side of Riyadh and stores that little bit of information to tease her DH in the future )

His use of vocab tends to mark DH out as a man in his early 30s/who has never grown up.

"these are not the droids you are looking for" "that's no moon" "you're my only hope Obi Wan"

"you're my wife now, Dave"

and using the word "wigan" to mean lady parts... (this may be a northern thing..)

Gosh, how uncanny. I too have been chased around the house with a lightsaber by DH! It was bought for ds, but he didn't really get a look in, until the batteries went flat.

DH insists on speaking with the Scooby voice whenever it is mentioned. Drives me nuts! He thinks he is good at it!

My friend bought a lightsabre (motion sensor and all that rubbish) then used his clerical cloak to look more like Darth Vadar. He also had a 'fight' with his friend (also mid thirties) in their local park. The teenagers looked amused and confused apparently!!

WundaWuman · 09/03/2009 22:54

my DP has current obsession with kinder surprises!

PurpleOne · 12/03/2009 01:30

mine had the lightsabre, and stole the washin basket lid, pretending to be a roman gladiator.

I am now divorced btw. The electric guitar a 4am with amp on full blast that woke the DDs was just too much!
