DP and DD just had the strangest argument

twirlandpearl · 17/11/2008 16:51

DD (15) has a friend over.

As DH (not her dad) was walking past the table DD started saying "big dick, big dick" under her breath. Friend was in stitches. I was just about to tell her off when DP started saying "big tits, big tits" in the same way! .

Both dd and friend fell about laughing, DP looked furious and embarrassed. I said to him "why the hell did you say that?" and he replied "what, so she can say what she likes to me but I can't say anything back?" he's the bloody adult!?

sorry if Im completely wrong but is this the same two who had the arguement over him eating loads of biscuits last week?

ginnny · 17/11/2008 17:35

He sounds horrible.
I remember the biscuits thread last week and I thought he sounded like a twat then - seems like I was right.
How did your dd react when he said that to her?

ledodgy · 17/11/2008 17:36

He's a bourbon eating knob.

Ivvvvyygootscaaared444 · 17/11/2008 17:37

I think he needs some help in how to fit into step family life.

completely inappropriate and rather worrying.
If my DD was your dd's friend, I would wonder about her visiting....I'd certainly be having word about avoiding your dp. sorry.

ginnny · 17/11/2008 17:46

Its very odd that a grown man would talk to a teenage girl that way tbh.
I would be a bit worried if I were you, arguing about biscuits is one thing, but this is a lot worse and frankly more than a little bit wierd.

NorkyButNice · 17/11/2008 17:53

His response is inappropriate, but so was her original comment.

Just read the biscuit thread and didn't see what was so bad about his remark then (or the eating of 8 biscuits!).

Flightattendant4 · 17/11/2008 17:57

he is a big dick though.

anyfucker · 17/11/2008 18:33
Hmm
Simplysally · 17/11/2008 18:42

Someone's bored today

Fizzfiend · 17/11/2008 18:48

I would not be comfortable with that at all. Was reading today that children in step parent families have 8 times the chance of abuse. I am sure there is nothing going on here, but just keep atuned to what's going on (I've probably been watching too much Eastenders too!)

Fizzfiend · 17/11/2008 18:50

Also, didn't mean to offend anyone in a step-relationship of any kind. I really hope not. I'm sure I'll be in one one day!

unavailable · 17/11/2008 19:05

Well Fizz, if you are out of order so am I, it rang possible abuse alert alarm bells with me as well. (And I dont watch Eastenders.)

I'm not trying to scare you Twirl, but suspect you may have thought this yourself on some level and posted to sound out some impartial opinions.

thenewme · 17/11/2008 19:06

She was probably trying to show off in front of her friend.

He was being an idiot.

Flightattendant4 · 17/11/2008 19:31

Sounds like she doesn't have a lot of respect for him. you need to think about why this might be.

madlentileater · 18/11/2008 09:32

does he have his own children?
if not this may explain why he doesn't seem to know how to be a father?

BarbieLovesKen · 18/11/2008 10:02
Hmm

Lullabelletcetc

It should be:

Your family are weird, surely?

Or perhaps not.

Confused

Yes, biscuit thread please.

This may not work...

the whole thing is just ridiculous.

If however, you are actually being serious (doubtful) I would be very very concerned about a grown man speaking to a 15 year old like this and you need to investigate further/ get rid of him. He sounds like a f*cking ejit anyway..

BarbieLovesKen · 18/11/2008 10:24

(sorry - thats the biscuit thread)
