I have had problems with FIL, here is the thread about it;
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/7/550000

Now FIL has lived up to what he said that he wont come to our house again. He said it, not me. I won't stop him or MIL coming to our house to see DD or DH.

I wont stop DH taking DD to his parents house either, I am just a bit annoyed that MIL hasn't been here to see DD or DH since all of this happened last month.
MIL usually comes here twice a week to see DH and DD.
DH has taken DD to see PIL once in 3 weeks, this is great, I get some time to myself to chill out and I don't have to be in the same room as FIL. Double bonus.

Today though it is chucking it down and PIL's house is approx 20ish miles away from us down a busy motorway.
DH said he was going to take DD to see PIL, I asked if he could maybe ask them to come here because of the weather.
I feel it is an uneccesary journey for DD to take in such bad weather. Especially when PIL could come here. Well it would actually only be MIL as FIL is working today.

MIL has her own car and is perfectly capable to drive here to see DH and DD.

I asked DH why at least MIL hasn't been round and he said he doesn't know what I am talking about I said that if it is because I am here I will go out while she is here.

So AIBU to ask DH to ask PIL to come here today as opposed to taking DD on a journey on the motorway when the weather is like it is. Especially when PIL could just as easily come here.

Your PILs sound like complete tits - but I don't suppose your dd will actually melt, will she?

Hi Thankyou. So it looks like I am being unreasonable.

I know she wont melt. It's not the rain getting her wet that I am worried about.
It's the car journey itself, driving down a motorway, driving between 2 very very busy port towns in really heavy rain when there is no need to.

I am not trying to force the situation at all. I have no problem with DH taking DD there but it's just this weather. I will go out while they are here if it is me they don't want to see.
