Grief and stress, how can I help?

I'm just wondering how it has affected people I suppose.

My boyfriend (together 5 months, we don't live together - too early for that!) has been through some stressful times over the last month or so, and also suffered a bereavement (close member of the family).

During this time..well his behaviour has caused me some worry. he has gone from being kind, gentle, funny to being (a lot of the time) shuts down completely and/or becomes angry, snappy, losing his temper over the slightest and most bizarre things and drinkign a lot more than usual

I should stress none of this is directed at me more against himself it seems. He is not in any way violent.

I'm sure it must be the situation affecing him. I really want to help, be supportive and don't know what to do. is this 'normal' behaviour in this type of situation? I'm very concerned for him. And if I'm being honest I'm finding it quite hard too.

Any suggestions or advice welcome ta.

just try and let him know you are there for him without being in his face too much about it. tell him if he wants to talk you will listen. he will come through it eventually.

The anger and other things could well be a reaction to the death of this close family member.

He may want to talk to CRUSE and you may also find them helpful:-

Thank you both. Attila, I will take a look at that link.
