Short story.

been with husband 9 years, 1 year into our relationship i discovered I had genital herpes. I’d had an outbreak previously but didn’t know that’s what it was at the time but the second time there was no avoiding it I loved this man and I wanted to be honest so I went and got checked out and that was that. I was devastated! Thought my world was ending and in some ways it has. Fast forward to now we have two children together. I still have fairly regular outbreaks atleast 4/5 a year. I’ve struggled ‘down there’ with other things like urine infections and generally feeling quite undesirable. None of these things have ever put my husband off. Prior to having our children we didn’t d have sex when I have an outbreak and he has other fetishes so I was able to satisfy him that way. Since having the kids my libido has taken a hit (to put it lightly) I had post natal depression both times which I antidepressants for both times and I know this will have had not helped the situation however it helped my mental state at the time.

I feel like I’ve changed and I’ve failed as wife. We have fairly regular discussions about how to improve things. Having more date nights, making time to sit down of an evening and chat have a glass of wine and try to relax but nothing works! The worst part is I so want to feel the desire I once did but I just don’t. I love him so much but I can’t see how this can continue knowing how much he wants to be in a more loving and intimate relationship.

Any advice

We all change as we age, it’s not a failure. Has he said it will finish if you’re not more loving and intimate?
