This is aimed at lone parents that have no co parent, how did you date or meet someone again? Particularly If you have more than one child and you also didnt have family that would help out?. I am desperate to meet someone again but I can’t see how it’s possible so if you did meet someone again can you share how? Thanks

I've been single 13 years now :(

I don't have childcare so almost impossible to find the time.

I guess I am a success story - depending what you consider a success!! I became a lone parent when my daughter was 7 and I did do some dating over the years through babysitters, but it could never really go anywhere so I waited until she was older. I met my current boyfriend almost 4 years ago and he’s amazing. Mj daughter is 17 now and so it’s easier but having said that, I’ve never thought it is appropriate for a teenage girl to have an unrelated man stay in the house as I want her to feel comfortable in her own home and luckily he agrees so he doesn’t stay over. Obviously some times she’s at sleepovers or school trips etc and he stays then. They are only young for a short time really so we are both happy to wait. The long term plan is to move in together and we will decide together when the time is right, but will probably be sometime over the next few years.

we met on bumble.

When my kids were 3 and 6 I went online and instead of going on loads of dates, was much more choosy, being pretty sure there was a chance of something coming of it before I hauled my mum into babysit. It worked and I’ve been happily married to dh for 15 years.

Unfortunately I don’t have family that would babysit but I’m glad you managed to find someone

I fell in love with someone from my village, that I got to know slowly. He was just part of the furniture of my children’s lives, chatting to us on dog walks, or outside the shop etc. We’d been friends for 18 months, getting closer and closer, before we took it physical and it was longer still before we slowly started showing that with each other with children around. Years later, we are still together.

My best friend took her 2 year old son on her first date with a chap - and they went to the local play park for the date. I remember being very snotty and judgy about it at the time . Her son is now 18 and she is happily married to the man she took to the play park for a date .

in that time I have dated in a more conventional manner - I am twice divorced .
