AIBU to feel let down by my friend after opening up about what I’ve been going through bc

AIBU to feel let down by my best friend. For background she has a baby who is now 9 months. I have an older child. We have been best friends for most of our lives from childhood.
We had a catch up recently, hadn’t seen eachother in around a month. I told her I’ve been having a very hard time- my child has been ill in hospital (she knew about this), work issues and I’ve just found out my recent round of IVF hasn’t worked. Feel like I have a lot on my plate and she listened and asked questions. But since then (2 weeks ago) I haven’t heard a thing from her. I guess I expected at least a follow up but maybe I’m expecting too much?

Did she get a chance to talk about her struggles? Or did you just offload onto her? She might have found it a bit full on and one sided.

Really sorry and in the kindest way....
When my kids were that age of I was going out to meet a pal I wanted light chat, fun things, anything away from nappies, lack of sleep, feeding

Yes I was there for people to hear about struggles but.... I never got out....

So if it was me I would ignore messages. My energy would be on survival with no sleep.

Look at your support group and other ways to get what you need.

I know and I understand that, I’ve been there too with a young child but I guess even then if I knew my best friend was going through an awful time I would check in

If you've not heard from her, maybe she's having a rough time too? It's not a competition, just drop her a message and say how are you!

She hasn’t got it to give. You should let her off the hook imo.
