Six years in and wondering if a good relationship is enough

Hi everyone looking for some advice please as I am feeling so lost right now!

I am 34 and have been with my boyfriend for 6 years now. He is the best boyfriend I’ve ever had by far and ticks so many boxes - completely trust him and that’s something I’ve always struggled with in the past, he’s massively helped me grow as a person.

I live in his house which is absolutely stunning, so I would be giving up a lot if we broke up. Being together for 6 years and no sign of a proposal has also been getting me down and caused arguments.. not that I even know if I would want that now…

we have an overall good relationship but I am lacking the feeling of passion, lust and desire. I am noticing more men and entertaining the attention more when ever I am out now and thinking about what it would be like to be single again. This is confusing me and making me think I am bored and unhappy within my relationship? I feel like there is no spark between us.

Our relationship was never built on lust from my side, more that our personalities clicked and it grew from there. But now it’s presenting an issue for me, and I feel like when we do have sex it just feels a bit flat… it’s like I’m craving for him to be different and that makes me feel so guilty!

I am starting to feel lonely within the relationship even whilst we are together and I just cannot explain why. He brings a lot to the table but I feel like our energies are mismatched. He is tired a lot and I am always high energy and I feel like the gap is starting to get wider. I love him so much as a person but if my eye is starting to wander does that mean my relationship is over?
I used to have no interest or thoughts about other men!

I am so scared to make the wrong decision but I don’t want to waste our times either if there could be someone better suited to us both out there!

I have told him I’m lacking passion.., sometimes he will try be more “passionate” but sometimes I feel like my body just does not respond to his touch anymore ☹️

has anyone left a good man and found someone better suited? Or are the good ones rare and I should give up on wanting a more lustful relationship?

thank you in advance!

The grass isn't always greener, and you'll probably regret it if you do. But it sounds like you should let him go so he's got chance to find someone who actually values him, the poor bloke.

Tbh even if you get with someone else, if you crave male attention your head is going to be turned at some point regardless.

Male attention is the easiest thing to get, I wouldn’t hold so much by it. If you’re unhappy in your relationship that’s one thing, but there aren’t an endless supply of decent dateable men out there.

You are not ready to settle down, and this is not the right man for you.

When we focus on what a man "brings to the table" (code for him being a strong earner) we are viewing our partner through a lens of financial utility. That transactional basis will leave the relationship feeling hollow, even while we live in comfort.

You have no kids. If you think that you are romantically incompatible with this guy, now is the time to make the change and find someone you actually fancy.

All relationships end one way or another. Sounds like this one has run its course.

Either get help, or leave. Having to put up with a partner constantly seeking attention from other people is torturous, and a waste of life.

This
Leave him and go out and find the touch that doesn't make you feel bored (this month) and be happy. Good luck. You deserve what becomes in your fulfillment.
