He says he can't stand being around me. Nobody else would want me.

Yesterday my partner in
one of his moods said he was unhappy, he just goes along with life and doesn't bother talking with me. He then said he goes to work as he can't stand being around me. That nobody else would want me.
he loafer acted like things were normal.
problem is I can't forgive what he said. He really hurt me. Is it normal for me to feel this way. I don't know what to do now? Something for me has changed inside. I don't feel the same any more. I thought about just grabbing some nuts and going. I don't have any family or anything. I'm at a confused point. Honestly I feel very much alone. At 48 I am like what do I do? Where do I go. It's the only relationship ive ver had. So navigating what is normal what isnt it hard for me.'

Confused about what? Hes horrible to you, he is abusive. Just go.

Fontet · 10/08/2026 05:42

Leave

Charlottian · 10/08/2026 05:44

If that is how he feels, leave the prick to it. @vVioletViolet You deserve so much better.

Devilsmommy · 10/08/2026 05:47

What a nasty cunt. Leave him and you'll be a lot happier

sodoffbeforemycupofcoff · 10/08/2026 05:50

He has love bombed you and now he has you he is acting up and abusing you.

get out now before you really don’t have anywhere to go in years to come. I am speaking from experience.

go to woman’s aid, they will remove you from the situation and help house you.

you always have a choice. Don’t let your mind play tricks. Your reality is what you make it in your head. Something is only bad (leaving) if you make it negative in your head. See it as a fresh start and thrive. Best of luck.

Userxyd · 10/08/2026 05:55

He’s done a number on you hasn’t he. How many years has he been conditioning you? It will be tough to break out of the hold he’s got on you but finding freedom would bring you deep joy and fulfilment. Do you have children? What ages are they and what country/culture do you live in?

JustMyView13 · 10/08/2026 05:56

Oh, he is trying to shred every ounce of confidence you have so that he can just continue with dialling up the abuse safe in the knowledge you’ll never leave.

Dump him, block him, delete & move on.

And of course you’ll find someone else. It might take a minute if you’re simultaneously going to raise your standards in men. But don’t waste a single day more with this…stud?

Summerhillsquare · 10/08/2026 06:00

Yes, it's normal to feel hurt by insults. It's not normal to insult your partner.

user1492757084 · 10/08/2026 06:02

He does not deserve to have you as a partner. Ask him to leave. Give him no second chances.

TealSapphire · 10/08/2026 06:07

I think from your description, no one would want HIM.

You however will feel so happy and free without that ogre.

pinkfondu · 10/08/2026 06:08

This is the straw that broke the camels back.

yrs it is ok to feel hurt. It was designed to hurt.

be Moght be over it but doesn’t mean you have to be.

shats the situation with where you live? Any children? Do you work?

chocoluv · 10/08/2026 06:20

Well done OP.

Being single is way better then staying where you’re not wanted.

Whose house is it?

I assume you work?

Where were you living before you met him and how long have you been together?

Likeiloveyou · 10/08/2026 07:21

What’s your housing situation? Any DC?
