Claire's Law - can anyone share their experience

I split with my ex (of 2 years) a few months ago due to repeated bouts of infidelity, lying about other women/his whereabouts etc. As I am trying to recover and reflect, I would now say he was emotionally abusive to me.

I have now found myself in a situation whereby his new partner is stirring up some trouble online, as is he by contacting my employer, waiting by my house etc. I knew he could be a bit sparky, and upon reflection I perhaps didn't know enough about him.

Anyway....long story short, I completed a Claire's Law application last Friday evening, at midday today (Monday) I have received an email to ask that I do a video call. Can anyone shed any light on this - what could it mean, please. I would be grateful if anyone could share their experiences, thank you.

The video call is to verify your identify - they don’t reveal anything on that call.

after they’ve checked who you are, they will then prepare the report and either contact you to say nothing to disclose, or will arrange a time to make the disclosure.

I had my video call last Monday. A few hours later I had an email saying nothing to disclose.

Good luck and stay safe. Well done for escaping.

Thank you, ever so much, for your reply. Does the time between application and email contact signify anything, do you think?

I had the email within a few days booking the appointment - it’s literally just when they get to it. They do that video call for EVERY applicant, they won’t disclose anything on it. It’s only after that they can start the work investigating and pulling together a report, once they know it’s legitimate request and you are someone entitled to receive the info.

You need to contact the police and report him for harassment.

Sounds like a bit of a dickhead, he has a new partner why isn't he just moving on? He has clearly painted an ugly picture for his new partner if she's getting involved as well. How old are these people?
