2 weeks since he ended our relationship because I found out he had been lying to me for months (I chose to work through it he chose to end it)

Last night i called him and asked him are you really doing this? He said yes i asked him do you think youll ever get what we had ever again? He said maybe i will maybe i wont and so il told him the truth - that hes a liar, and he didnt deserve me or my kids - told him to keep my stuff and give it to the next victim and then I blocked him.

And now, im spiralling. I wanted to fix us and fix this. We promised we would never give up on each other but he said "im breaking that promise deal with it"

I was going to stay and he mugged me off and left me 24 hours after we discussed it and told each other we loved each other and we will figure it out...

We dont live with each other. And the kids are mine not his. Its not fully the pub its more the fact he lied - if I dont like a man who goes to the pub alot, then its my choice to end it, however hes lied to me again about it which makes me wonder. Does that make sense?

Yeah i understand, i guess one of the issues here is that he has no commitments, your house, your children so he can come and go as he pleases, he can basically have his cake and eat it. You probably need to decide whether you’re ever going to get what you’re looking for out of the relationship.

It was stepping up. 2 years. Most weekends together some weekdays etc i think ultimately now I know the truth he couldnt be bothered to fix the trust issues he caused. Hes ended it anyway, says hes "given up" so regardless hes walked away. I was willing to work through it if he met me half way, but, he didnt. Someone who can end it over a phone call, after 2 years, while in the pub then block you and then turn phone off all night while leaving you 5 weeks post op with big complications doesnt love you anyway right ?!

A man like this is incapable of real love. His drive to go to the pub is bigger than that.
So you can question whether he loved you.
But what you should do is understand he cannot cope with a relationship with where there are responsibilities to another person.
Being so driven to want to be loved means we often attract someone like this.
Because it means we put with things someone more balanced won’t.
You need to accept that he can’t continue and it takes time to heal.
You so desperately want to love someone and try and fix this but you can’t fix him.
I was left in hospital by someone, once. I rang him at 2 in the morning and he was at an after party. Told me where to stick my hospital.
A decent man would have drive you home and changed your sheets. That’s it. That is what love with a functioning person looks like.

Yes i would agree, you'd be better of with someone who cares about you and wants to spend time with you.
