I’m just wondering can someone give me some guidance, I am married 12 years with a 17 year old son. We bought our second home a few months ago and moved in, I told my husband last week I want to seperate, I have not loved him for years but kept going to have my son in a somewhat secure environment. But this is horrible, I am financially so worried I’m scared I’ll loose the house, my son won’t talk to me now caus I am doing this, can anyone give me some guidance, I know this sounds crazy after just buying a house my husband is angry and saying that my son will be left with nothing

Sorry OP but this is obviously going to be a difficult time. If you are unhappy in the marriage then it's understandable that you want to separate. Your son is going to be upset, worried, uncertain about the future - try to reassure him that you and his dad are going to sort everything out and he will always have a place with both of you. Once the dust has settled, you can hopefully sit down and have a reasonable conversation with your husband about the way forward. You also need to get some legal advice. Try and stay calm and get through the next few months, there is light at the end of the tunnel. This is the hardest bit, it will get easier with time as everybody gets used to the new normal.

From what OP wrote I didn't get the impression that her son was also her husband's son. @Shuchins Can you clarify?
