Man thinks he is better than his wife. Leaves wife. A royal falls in love with her. Ex now regrets it and wonders why he has been cast aside in history. I love karma in work.

Wow, what a dodgy looking URL. No way I'm clicking on that.

Ha ha it daily mail so was dodgy I suppose 🤣

It’s about how the ex husband of Harriet Sperling (who is getting married to Peter Phillips next week) is all out of sorts.

Not seen the 13 year old ‘meaningfully’ for 4 years, not giver his own father leaving etc.

URL is fine

It’s the Daily Mail. I can agree with you that it’s not the most high brow news source, but it is certainly safe to click on.

Mol link stands for Mail Online. Mail Online is dodgy as journalism but the link is how their links now present.

The DM love a sadface from a deadbeat dad moaning that their now rich kid doesn't want to have anything to do with them ( Adele, Amy Winehouse, Gallagher's, Markles). They've graduated now to stories from long ex husbands. They must have a 'sadface story from useless relative of famous person' slush fund.

Oh dear. I suppose the Guardian, with its complete failure over many years to recognise or defend women's rights is less dodgy.

Yes there is an element of "they would say that wouldn't they" and some tabloid click bait stories, but they are mainstream press, even if centre right. The left deserted us. The Mail has been dogged on some of the issues that matter to the majority and has been useful in holding the current Government to account on some important issues.

What do you read?

FlyingBeGoat · 31/05/2026 09:27

It’s just more “Royal” nonsense from the Daily Fail.

Gosh, that's quite the conspiracy theory you invented there. Your knee must be tired from so much jerking.

The URL points to a rare top-level domain (.im) which is suspicious. It's then followed by an opaque bunch of numbers that gives no hint as to the contents. Those two factors taken together make it smell dodgy. I didn't click it because, well, it's a dodgy-looking URL and I had no idea the Mail has changed how it does links to its stories.

I hope you manage to peel yourself off from the ceiling.

Sorry then, a misunderstanding. I thought you were doing that MN "I'm too pure to read the Daily Mail" thing.

I don't understand a general need to only read things you agree with. I am happy to read a variety of media (and the DM has free access) and make my own mind up whether I agree or disagree.

I find the Mail obsession with the Royals, and indeed anyone remotely royal adjacent, wearing which is why I did not read this particular article. But get the OPs point.

There will also be an absence of some high-profile royals, most notably Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his family, following his fall from grace

But as preparations get underway for next week's 'low key' royal wedding, dark clouds are hanging over it linked to Ms Sperling's previous marriage to fitness instructor Antonio St John Sperling, 44, who is known as Dino.

A source told the Daily Mail: 'He's not very happy about how he's been portrayed by Harriet and feels that he's been completely written out of the narrative by her.

She's spoken in the past about struggling as a single mother, but Dino has tried to hold out the olive branch many times over the past few years to her and her family. But they've rejected any of his offers for help.'

The source added: 'Harriet has landed in the big time. She's marrying into the Royal Family and will never have to worry about money or paying a bill ever again. It's not been like that for Dino, he's struggled for a long time both financially and emotionally. He's being made out to the bad guy by her and that's simply not true.
