Book recommendations for rebuilding confidence after a difficult breakup as a single mum

Hi all,

I’ve been lurking for ages but finally posting because I could do with some recommendations.

I’m a single mum (late 30s) and after a pretty rough breakup last year, I’m trying to feel a bit more like myself again. Not even necessarily dating yet - just… remembering who I am outside of being “mum” and recovering from a bad relationship.

A friend mentioned a book called Single Mother to Blushing Bride and I wasn’t sure at first (title felt a bit… optimistic 😅), but I’ve actually found parts of it surprisingly grounding. It’s very focused on self-worth, rebuilding confidence, that sort of thing - not overly preachy.

There are also a few real-life stories in it which I’d normally roll my eyes at, but some of them did stick with me more than I expected. (Especially the focus on Lauren Sanchez Bezos and Kris Jenner, at the start... lol). I feel like it'll be incredibly tough balancing kids and the idea of letting someone new into my life.

Has anyone else read it, or found anything similar that helped? I feel like I’m at that in-between stage and could do with all the perspective I can get.

Mum of 3 boys(11, 9, 7)
Thanks 🙂

Well, with three growing boys I recommend Steve Bidduplhs "Growing Boys' for your sanity and because its a fantastic resource on effective management of boys growing up.

For you I recommend Everything I know about love by Dolly Alderton and after that read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig so you can move your life in the right direction.
