ok, advice needed please, been seeing this guy for about 3 months and really getting on well, weve both met each others children and are going on holiday in 7 weeks and counting, when were together hes great, attentive and we have a laugh, but and heres the but, he seems to be keeping something back, not forthcoming on the lovey doveyu stuff, was hurt pretty badly about 6 years ago and i think hes scarred by it, should i just keep going and wait to see if he lets barriers down or say something

Maybe he needs a bit more time. Some guys just aren't lovey dovey anyway. Doesn't matter what you say/do/ to them they don't have the capacity to be like that back. Just give it time and see how it goes on holiday where things might be a bit better. But don't expect things, just accept things. Maybe he's never been the romantic type and has nothing to do with being badly treated.

My dp never tells me he loves me. He's been battle scarred and says he will never love anyone again. But he does love me. Nobody has ever been nicer to me. It kind of hurts that he won't say it, and we've been together a year, but hey ho. Love is as love does. My xh told me he loved me whilst he was shagging someone else. It's not about the words really, it's the actions, imo.

the holiday will be the key - sure he'll let his hair down then. (weird image of bloke with hair up in bun).

ooh, sorry, got carried away into a whole other topic of my own there But agree you should just wait and see. 3 months isn't long to let his guard down, if he's been hurt before.

Wait until the holiday when you have time to relax together; don't put pressure on him. Three months together when you both have children and are planning a holiday is beginning to sound serious... he may need a bit longer than this to commit to you, which is just fine. Give him time/space.

ok another 2 weeks on and im still in the same place, spent the whole weekend together last week which was great, but the communication is still a real problem, he never rings me just to see how i am, its all me, i know definately i shouldnt push things with him but im getting to feel like rubbish because i really want to see more of him and to know where this relationship is going in his book
