Bedroom advice

Me (F30) and DH (M30) have a great sex life, communication and connection is there. We both stopped watching porn about 7/8 years ago and sex went from emotionless (get the task done) to connected and present. However, in recent months we’ve started to have problems with premature ejaculation.

we have communicated about it, and a friend of ours suggested viagra, sildenafil. So we tried that however it doesn’t prevent the time by much. He actually then spends the majority of the time trying to slow down or change up positions to prevent it happening. Which then means we’re resorting to other measures to help me.

Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone been in this situation, or similar? We’re having sex on average 3/4 times a week.

Has he been to his GP ?

Nosdacariad · 21/02/2026 08:23

Some SSRIs can help with that. GP.

I must be getting old as I half hoped this thread was about bedroom decor 🫠

Me too. I was thinking, "make sure you leave plenty of space to open the wardrobe."

He hasn’t been to the GP about it, he’s on an absolute no with SSRIs due to benefit<side effects, as he wouldn’t use it for his mood.

sorry to disappoint by not asking for decorating tips. I have actually recently redecorated our bedroom (plenty of space to open the wardrobe!) so no concerns there!

Maybe GP then (he might go if you say the alternative is sex therapy 😁)
