Following up from my last thread about my partner receiving an anonymous message about having chlamydia, he received another from a different number but this time it was the “I’ve got a feeling I’m not the only one you’re seeing.. if I’m the only one you’ll know my name” trend from TikTok. Straight away he text me thinking I was the one that sent it.

I text that number myself and it was clearly someone trying to split us up, telling him he’d seen me holding hands with a very hot man in Tesco and vice versa. To cut a long story short they slipped up and turns out it’s MY EX who I split with 9 years ago. We both blocked the number and within days my partner starts getting texts from another number, ex again, only this time he’s claiming I’m in bed with him. He’s causing so many problems and I can feel a shift in my partner, which part of me understands, it’s a lot especially considering we’ve only been together since September. I’ve been to the police about it and they shrugged me off like I was wasting their time.

I'm so sorry. Can you get support/advice from a stalking charity?

ProfessorRedshoeblueshoe · 21/02/2026 12:13

I am so sorry.

I hope you're okay today @Dontknowwhattobelieve2. I expect you're pretty exhausted. Just take each day as it comes and be kind to yourself Flowers

I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I think you need to check your online security, change passwords, look at your digital footprint and completely lock down your social media.

Is there some way he still has access to something? Is he on your friends list under another profile?

You also need to think about if any of your friends & family still have contact with him, and might be fool enough to share what's happening in your life with him.

What a nightmare situation for you. I wonder if it’s worth considering a move away and a fresh start? Somewhere the awful ex knows no one.

I actually did this, and it wasn't even MY ex. My sister had a 7 y relationship with a guy in the 80s who became very abusive - slapping, grabbing her hair, punching, coercive rape and at the end forced rape. She called the cops and he spent 1 night in jail and she fled the state.

Afterwards, he repeatedly called all of her family, including me, like, "Hi how are you? I'd like to know where your sister is." Like years later, I would get these terrifying calls.

My father once spent all night sitting up, clutching an axe, worried ex would break into his house and kill him.

I had a silent number for years and being scared to death of him was one of the reasons I left the entire continent.

And 5 years ago that freak found me from my business site online and now he sends me letters and birthday and Christmas cards and presents. Every time my heart jumps in fright. My H opens everything and looks at it (he doesn't tell me what the contents are on my request) and stores it just in case. I haven't responded to anything and don't think he has the financial wherewithal or nouse to come to my continent, but still he sends this shit. I've already planned - and practiced many times in my head - my strategy if he turns up at my door.

These fucking men. And no one believes you how scary they are.

Dear God @LouiseMadetheBestBroccoliPasta

I hope your sister is safe, and the rest of your family.

What an utter blight he is. It will be a relief when he dies.

Surely this is stalking?

Surely this is stalking?

Yes. And that's why we've kept everything, so we can show the police in my town if he ever shows up. I can also show them the hundreds of emails he's sent and keeps sending to my business email, which are automatically moved into a folder I can't see. And I can direct them to the police station on the previous continent that dealt with his last attack on my sister. I have no doubt that my sister was not the last woman who he brutalised, so there are likely plenty of other such reports, if they need more evidence that he is a dangerous, violent, obsessive, and deeply disturbed man.

My sister died 7 years ago. What he did to her left her deeply traumatised. PP used the term "blight". That's what he is: a blight, a pestilence, a curse.
