I know we need to separate, but it's all very overwhelming.. one moment I'm ok, other times it all just feels too much
Kids are during a levels and gsce, was hoping can manage till it's done, but today feels like i reached rock bottom.
He won't agree with them staying with me and wants to let them choose, how can you put them in a such a uncomfortable situation! I can not be present during this chat at least then they won't feel the pressure,my heart breaks though😥
Had a very crappy day...

It's horrible position to be in, however, he does have a point, the children are old enough to make that decision. They are his children as much as they are yours. I am just going by the belief that you are both good parents and want the best for the children despite you not getting along anymore. The other alternative is 50/50 split, one week with you and one week with him.

I’ve gone through similar recently and it’s tough. There’s days when our child isn’t with me and those days often are the toughest. Allow yourself time to adjust, it’ll get easier (I hope).

Given the children’s ages it’s right they have a voice in the decision, but it might be better to look at splitting the week / weekends so they stay with both of you.

Thanks but he is disney dad. All fun things often on the boarderline of not safe, daily mundane duties are not for him. Work pattern can be all over the place, often 7 days a week so yes there is concern here. Less now but still can be moody, drug and alcohol addiction in a past. And housing may be tricky.
I definitely believe kids can stay where they want, it's more of the situation where you need to sit then down to ask x
