How does this end up working? Can’t give him much time due to commitments elsewhere

Met this lovely guy I knew years back and have started going for a drink/having sex

He is keen to plan other things but I don’t have the time right now due to childcare/caring commitments

It will look different in about 18 months.

Is it fair to string him along like this? I genuinely do like him but sense he’s really wanting more time with me that I can’t realistically give yet

We are 28 and 29.

Its fair as long as you are honest with him. Up to him if he wants to continue with you or not.

You talk to him.

See what he wants and allow him to decide if lines up with what you can currently give.

You’re not stringing him along as long as you tell him the truth and let him decide if that’s enough for him.

Just be honest. He can then take it or leave it. If he's going to pressure you and try and make you feel bad, bin him.

I think you are a grown adult with two young children and he doesn’t have a clue what that entails. Even if the load lightens for you in a while you are still a mum and your kids will always come first.
In your shoes I would jet him down gently so he can find someone at a similar life stage.
