Leaving domestic abuse

Hi,

I was just hoping to get some advice from anyone who might have been through something similar. I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.

I recently left my husband due to domestic abuse.

I won't list everything he did to me but it included multiple threats to break my neck, kill me and a family member, choked me several times, pushed me down, lots of name calling and hacking my devices amongst other things.

I have left with my children to stay with a family member who has helped me secure a rental, which is amazing.

I'm just wondering what to do next. I don't wish to tell him my new address and actually would prefer to not have to speak to him again as whenever we have messaged, he has become very nasty and threatening.

He is away currently but I'm wondering where I stand with access to our children when he returns (if he wants it), whether I can block him, whether he will be able to find out where I live and what he will do.

I'd just appreciate any advice at all.

Thank you.

Get a lawyer/solicitor, get a non molestation order against him, file for divorce,

first step is legal advice

Try this post on another board - e.g chat. Usually Mumsnet is all over helpful advice for DV situations. This one must not have flagged (I only just saw it and have been on MN today).
