do you celebrate it in your family? If so, how?

If you are a dad, what would you like for Father's Day? (other than a bj that is).

Does your dc's dad get treated according to his deserts on Father's Day, or does he get spoilt regardless of his fatherly performance?

I thought I would get the girls to make cards/paintings, and perhaps we could make is favourite dessert for him, and I am planning on being very friendly all day - he will love it!

Will buy something for my dad, and will go round to see him.

I am having my yearly struggle to remember whether I usually send my dad a card or dismiss it as a made up holiday I am not sure whether my dad counts it as a real holiday or is offended if I don't get him anything.

DH asked me earlier what I was going to get him for father's day. I asked whether he got me anything for mother's day (six months' PG and awful baby brain so I may well have forgotten ). He said yes. I said what? He said pregnant

yeah nice way to kill a thread bossybritches

I've brought dh a pintballing day out with a friend. He's been fantastic since dd was born, better than I expected, he's done nappies, night feeds and gets up every sunday so I can have a lay in.

I'd like to do something more personal as its his first fathers day but dd is only 7 months so its a bit tricky.

Has anyone any ideas?

Learing,
before you get too hmm at ol' BB she is right in actuality but putting that aside its also good to celebrate fathers and I shall be doing so. (as I try to as often as possible)

Now then though, you know since its late and I feel risqué I will point out that since he is a parent much as yourself it is to be expected that he changes nappies and feeds your child.

But hey ho, back to the point.

Keep it focuseded. It is not a birthday it is a celebration (if manfactured) of parenthood so get dd to splat some paint around and frame him a selection of photos of her.

O M G please pretend that was written with gloves on

I know its a commercial day designed to generate more money for the greeting card industry slur but its nice to forget that and celebrate the joys of being a parent.

I know it should be equal but I'm at home and he has to go to work, so at the moment I kinda feel as if dd is my responsability. When I go back to work, I will be expecting him to pull his weight.

ANYWAY..Back to the nice stuff!
Thats a really good idea about the paint, I could put her handprint on the front of a piece of card, save me buying one, and its something to keep.

Thanks Slur.
