Miss him

Recently split up with my partner of 3 months nearly 3 weeks ago. I miss him but due to his hobby and drinking excessively I ended our relationship. I'm gutted I saw a future with him. To top it off we ended badly. I also spoke to his sister and she confirmed that he'd been lying to me about something I had ask him just before we split.

Just posting for a handhold please. I know it's for the best.

You're just in stage 1 of recovery.

  1. I miss him so much
  2. Were they really that good?
  3. WTF was I thinking?

He's a good person. He obviously didn't present like this from the start (nobody does). The depression wasn't a deal breaker for me because lots of people have depression. However I didn't realise that it's quite severe. I also met him with a "good job". The lying issues wasn't confirmed until I chatted with his sister (don't even ask). About the drinking he was never disorderly or anything like that or aggressive it's linked to a hobby and I noticed it's a bit much. It was Friday/Saturdays and he's "functioning".

I know I will be fine. I'm just fed up at the minute.

@BelatrixLestrange very rude.

It came across as rude but the advice is sound! Leave your kids out of it for at least a year. By your own admission he is a heavy drinker and a liar. You've done the right thing here by breaking it off so well done for that. Good luck!

You really need to take time out from dating because you are still trying to justify his behaviour.

Focus on parenting. Men will be there in ten years. And they'll be as crap as ever.

What hobby was he doing and how much time was he spending doing it? How badly did this impact the relationship?
