Do I believe him over WhatsApp message?

So I am currently 7 months pregnant and last night was the last night before mu DP officially moves in with me.

We were at his and I went to the bathroom, his phone was on the sink playing music so I picked it up to turn the music off thinking it would be on the Lock Screen. However, his phone was unlocked and I think in a moment of madness and hormones I saw WhatsApp and opened it.…

There was a message from an unsaved number saying “nice one - see you then”. The picture was of a woman on a beach. Again, it might be the hormones and feeling a bit insecure about my changing body.

I couldn’t bring myself to read the trail, but I did tell him I had seen the message. He said it was organising a game for his sport.

Do I believe him?

I would ask to see it. His reaction to that will tell you all you need to know

“Nice one” isn’t a phrase I’d expect a woman to use, but I agree with pp, I’d ask to see messages

Thecatthatgotthesouredmilk · 31/08/2025 21:15

Was it the first message I the WhatsApp feed? Or were there other messages between them? If the former, it looks like he deleted the previous chat.

I think if you were going to snoop you should have at least read some more of the messages before saying anything to him . This could be completely innocent. I have all sorts of messages on my phone with unsaved numbers . Workmen for stuff on my house, car mechanics ,nail technicians , many kids party invites I’ve replied to . It could be have been anything . So if it is innocent and he’s telling the truth I’d be really pissed off if I were him .

On the face of it, it doesn’t sound like the sort of thing I’d say to some guy I was hoping to shag. It sounds like two mates discussing plans, which is what he said it was. I mean, apart from the fact the sender appears to be female, the message content isn’t suspicious. I have WhatsApps from unsaved numbers saying all sorts of things, some of them are men - Airbnb host for flat in Spain, my friend’s partner who happens to be a farrier who was going to come look at my horse’s hoof.

On the face of it, what you've described sounds completely non suspicious. Do you have other reasons not to trust him?

16plusDC · 31/08/2025 22:12

Sounds like his mate has his girlfriend as his profile pic.

Sidelined101 · 31/08/2025 23:11

I say nice one and I’m a woman

Coffeislife · 31/08/2025 23:14

Unless he is having a relationship with Nessa I think you're safe, it doesn't sound like a Ea phrase
