Please be honest. I'm 38, I have very few friends and I've never had a boyfriend. I'm very shy, I have very low self-esteem and am also a bit overweight. I'm also considered a bit odd as I love history, art, horror movies, heavy metal and classical music. I know I'm ugly but am I too ugly or odd to find love or even friendship.

You look lovely. Please don't think of yourself that way. Love yourself first and the rest will fall into place. Relationships aren't everything!

Definitely not and agree with previous posters re loving yourself first plus would bet that a love of history, art, horror movies, heavy metal and classical music....you will have great conversation and interesting things to chat about

I can't think of any other reason for you to have posted your photos on MN than for you wanting to get loads of people being complimentary about you.

From my point of view, yes you are attractive. However, you look very different in these pictures (if they are both you). I spent a few seconds looking between the two and trying to work out if I was looking at the same person. They both look nice though!

Those are bog-standard, 100% mainstream, normal things to enjoy. Many women are into these things, they’re not in any way uncommon or unusual.

No i have not done this for compliments, having never had any nice reactions to the way I look, or a relationship. Where would these compliments come from?

Well quite frankly you’re not ugly-what bands do you like? If you like heavy metal I’d say 95% of heavy metal fans like the things you do. Join a fan club, get involved in the chat pages/forum meet people at the gigs. Get some therapy/hypnotherapy/cbt to start addressing your self esteem

In one, she has glasses on and her hair is a different colour, but she's obviously the same person!!!
