DP constantly comparing - does it get better

My DP has been in a bit of a rut recently and compares things constantly - X couple earn more money, X couple can afford a bigger house.

He says he can’t snap out of it and knows he should be grateful for the many positives in his own life, but is struggling to do so.

Has anyone got any tips I can give him, or do you think if someone is like this then that’s just how they are wired?

Sounds like he may have depression if he can’t let it go. Tell him to either give it a rest or get help.

There's a brilliant and very funny book called 64% Better Than Dave by Alistair Puddick.

It's a about a man who constantly compares himself to other people, especially his neighbour and how it brings his happy family life crashing down in a series of cringeworthy ways. Buy it for him and he might get the hint.

Sounds like a form of anxiety. I myself suffer from it and alot of dealing with it comes from understanding it, a book that helped me is John Delony - building a non anxious life. As the saying goes comparison is the thief of joy. That being said if he is truly unhappy with his lot, what's he doing about it too improve or is it just a case of non resolved negativity?
