Does Womens Aid inform SS if you seek advice on how to leave an abusive marriage and you have a child?

I've read on here that this happened to someone, obviously I don't know whether it is true and the circumstances, but I was wondering if those who did call can confirm whether or not this what usually happens?

My husband has never been physically abusive to me, but financially and emotionally (only to me, not to our child who he adores) and I have reason to believe that leaving him might not be safe. I want to seek advice what I could do. However, I want to keep the option open to plan my leave in secret without telling him if this turns out to be the safest way, and SS knocking on our door would give him the heads up that I have disclosed something and this would be detrimental to my plan to leave secretly/safely/

Not necessarily. You might find this helpful:

It's best to have an assessment as they'll look at your safety and help you come up with a safety plan. You're doing the right thing by not telling him what you're doing. You can contact Refuge via webchat until 10pm or the National Domestic Abuse helpline who are available 24/7.

I work within Social Services and normally cases only come to their attention and automatically get involved if Police have been called. This is Scotland though.

They will refer if they think a child is at risk. Social workers will give you a call to discuss how to ensure the safety of your child/safely leave and will support you to do so. They will contact the father if there doesn't appear to be a plan to leave. The reason for this is that any person with PR for a child needs to be informed and included in the assessment being completed. If you have a clear plan to leave imminently, they won't alert the father and they also won't inform him where you are after you leave.
