My DH played today. I didn't mind at all. But then he only plays once a month - does yours play more, maybe?

He plays on his day off which is usually a weekday,so again we could be spending it together.

He does love it,and I really don't mind ,but he gets such little time off I think it's precious and we need to spend more time together.

I am going to talk to him tonight about it.

Thing is I don't want to be a killjoy when he says someone has texted him about a game.I want him to choose to spend time with me rather than play iykwim.

My xh used to do this. Him and his mates would book 'a day of leisure'. It would drive me mad, becaue it leaves you with all the work to do, and it leaves you lonely. Totally sympathise.

littlewoman · 25/05/2008 21:08

How about if he did alternate weeks golf / family time on his day off?

ProfessorGrammaticus · 26/05/2008 16:08

Can you arrange something nice for his next weekend day off? Get in first?

My man is always playing either golf or cricket. I don't mind though as it is something he enjoys doing in his spare time. He is a very active independent person, and I would never stand in the way of his sports, even though he now does cricket on a Sat, which is one of the only days I get to see him. I see him after though, and it only lasts until Sept, so not too bad.

we're out to a friends for bbq next sat night ,so that's something at least.
I told him I was pissed off about last night,he just laughed it off and gave me a hug.
I think the only way is for me to plan things-or it's never gonna happen.

One of my fave films (lock stock and two smoking barrels) has the perfect line for this...

"golf, the best way to spoil a good walk"

My DH just about to go away on golf holiday for four days leaving me in bloody pouring rain at half term with two children to entertain. No, not bitter!
