I've not done OLD since 2009 when you were still expected to write some sort of profile and apps weren't a thing. The tech has changed, the pics have not. In fact I'd bet some of them are using pictures they took in 2009.
My favourites were ones where they'd cropped their ex out. Usually at someone else's wedding as they'd be wearing a suit outside an impressive looking building. Well, I hope they were at weddings and not outside a court room.

I have only seen one fish pic out in the wild in about 3 years of OLD. It was not just a fish pic, but really blurry and a generally rubbish pic. I do not know how the guy thought it was showing his best self. He was probably one of the ones whinging, '"is this real, no one ever responds" without the slightest bit of self reflection on why he might be getting no response.

I met my DP through OLD and he always says how a line in my bio “when did everyone start hillwalking” made him laugh which made him swipe to match.

My ex popped up on my mate’s OLD. His picture was of him holding a plastic fish at some sort of fishing equipment market stall.
He’s never been fishing in his life! It’s not managed to attract a new female either, handily.

I think it is mean to laugh at things people like. If I post a photo of me playing my guitar, that is because I am proud of it. If he posts a picture next to his car, it is because he likes driving and fast cars. I don't, but I don't make fun of him for what he likes. Honestly it is like there is only one gender on here, ours, and the other gender is to be ridiculed!
