Facebook snooping fail?

So in a moment of weakness I may have been slightly snooping on an ex's Facebook profile (we're no longer facebook friends)...

And am now regretting my snooping decision, from fear of getting rumbled and needing to emigrate...

If you view a Facebook story for somebody who isn't a Facebook friend... does your name show or does it just show as an "other viewer"?

I'm assuming the random scrolling through of old videos shared etc. is at least still anonymous!

It's possible that you will appear in their friend suggestions, that seems to be accepted wisdom these days as Facebook will do what it can to drive engagement, however there isn't any other trace left unless you accidentally click on something that directly interacts with them

For stories there's some theories that messenger can allow you to see other viewers under certain circumstances I believe but I'm don't think Facebook shows by default

Thank you!

I'm definitely learning my lesson and won't be snooping next time!

I’m sure it’ll be other. I get 5 or 6 every story I post and it’s never told me a non friend viewed

The only clue that someone has been looking you up Is the 'friend suggestions' . They can't tell you've been looking at their profile. You haven't done anything immoral ! I've looked at my husband's ex's brother's wifes profile (you end up down a rabbit hole ) it's pure curio. Not healthy particularly, but not criminal either.
