Does anyone know can false allegations of abuse show up on Clare’s law. For example could a previous ex of a partner make false allegations and then this is on partners police history law or is it from convictions only.
what would Clare’s law show ?

that's what he told you was it?

I'd trust the police, they have no reason to lie to you

ChersHandbag · 07/04/2025 20:43

No. If it’s coming up, he did it.

Suns1nE · 07/04/2025 20:44

No false allegations don’t show up. They have to have evidence for it to be logged. They can included dropped charges but not false ones

Over40Overdating · 07/04/2025 20:45

No, they can’t.

So whatever he is saying he didn’t do, he did.

HenDoNot · 07/04/2025 20:45

Ah he’s laying the groundwork already.

”false allegations” eh.

Aye right.

No.

OP, if you’ve requested a Claire’s Law then you know in your gut that something is wrong. Believe your instincts.

False allegations wouldn’t show up. Only convictions and cautions.

If the police say that they have something then it’s not good and I’d steer clear….

Some women aren’t angels though neither and can provoke……. I know people who have been there.

Read point 6 on this very carefully,

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/domestic-abuse-bill-2020-factsheets/domestic-violence-disclosure-scheme-factsheet

“The police must satisfy several tests before a decision to disclose is made under the scheme – that the disclosure is necessary to protect the person from being the victim of a crime, that there is a pressing need for the disclosure, and that the interference with the perpetrator’s rights is necessary and proportionate for the prevention of crime.
Any decision to disclose under the scheme will be made based on the facts of each individual case, and the police can seek legal advice where necessary.”
