Cold sore and second date 😢

Typical that I have a cold sore today of all days. I really like him and was anticipating maybe a kiss at the end of the night. We are eating out. I've bought some patches but as soon as I eat it comes off and it's obvious that I've got one on anyway!
Clutching at straws here but any ideas?

If you put sudocrem on overnight it is gone the next day as a rule.

2nd date is too soon to be speaking about a cold sore imo 😬

I'd say i was poorly and make it clear i will definitely see him on the rescheduled date x

Maybe message him and say you have a cold sore on your lip and see whether it bothers him or not.

And as long as you practice good hand hygiene and avoid kissing then he should be perfectly safe to be close to you.

I'd just say straight off the bat, 'sorry to tell you I've a cold sore so there won't be any snogging tonight handsome, you'll just have to impress me with your conversation skills instead'.

Annoying to have to wait till date 3 to check they can kiss though! But what can you do, it is what it is.

Had a really lovely time thank you. Could have easily snogged him tonight but we had 3 amazing hugs and a nice peck (sore is corner of lip) so that certainly made up for it! It's been a nice slow build up, it'll happen when it feels really natural, we're definitely making it clear that we like each other. He makes me laugh and is very attentive in conversation, he's interesting to listen to too! He sneaked off to pay for the food.

Wish I had seen this earlier.

I know you are absolutely not meant to use this on your face but cortisone works wonders for cold sores. Honestly stops it completely in it tracks and it normally nearly gone by the next day.

Give it a try.
