Hi all,
I am trying to get a sense of what would be fair and balanced when my partner moves in with me in near future. We have been together 2.5 years and need to discuss.
He will be selling up and moving in with me, I have a lifetime housing association property that I won't give up and won't put his name on my tenancy unless we marry (maybe)
I have my own business and earn well, far more than him. No pension
He will be retiring from main job, good pension but will continue to work on his own business.
I doubt we will ever marry. We're both 50's.
I'm thinking I will continue to pay the rent and we can go half's on all bills. Does this seem fair, some of my friends agree, others disagree. He is quite adamant he will pay his way
Please let's not talk about my pension, I have never had anything spare to put into one until the last few years. I figure I will live off savings and then benefits in old age. Starting a pension now is just not worth it.
