I think I dated a psychopath?

(I know the term is becoming obsolete now).

We've split up now. She split up with me.

I am just interested.

She told me that she left me because she knows I deserve love, and she can't give it. In her words she 'Couldn't love anyone-she couldn't even love her own children'.

She tried to kill me once (I think) violently. She has said she'd disappointed with this, she thought she'd get more of a psychological thrill or high, than she did once she'd done it.

Those two instances-but other things are less monumental. E.G I once arranged a bit of an evening out for her and one of her children and she didn't fancy it. Her son really did, so I said 'come on, won't be for long I'll just get us some dinner, couple of drinks then home'. She said okay, and then said to me 'Remember, I didn't want to go'. She then caused a major upset that night, really upsetting her child (and me).

There are several things like that.

Hi, OP. We've moved your thread to Relationships.

Those descriptions by themselves do not denote psychopathy.
What is your understanding of this term?

Well, the thing about psychological thrill from an attempt on someone’s life is pretty disturbing.

My understnading is a lack of empathy (which is illustrated in all examples), manipulation (illustrated in one example), being unable to feel love or compassion for another human, I know there are other aspects and examples of psychopathic behaviours and traits but, most seem to fall under the same umbrella of the above.
