They say living in the future is anxiety and in the past is depression. I would write down my worries and likelihood of them happening and then make a plan to avoid or minimise their impact. This might includes working on acceptance and uncertainty as a plan because some things are out of my control so sorting things as within my control or not is also helpful.. basically CBT principles.

I find myself feeling much more worrisome and anxious as I get older - I’m mid 50s.

I find working through what I’m worried about to think about the solution helps, so if this or that happens, I would do this etc. Sometimes I write my worries down which helps break them down too, and can feel less overwhelming. Sometimes I think worrying about things or feeling anxiety is a bit of a habit. I have to tell myself what is the worst that can happen?
