Galentines support thread

Thought I'd make a thread for anyone else who has recently separated or who just isn't feeling it this year

I'm currently trying to forget my ex who triangulated me with his female 'best friend' for the best part of 2 years.

I'm not actually feeling too bad
Plan to have a glass of Prosecco in a long bath tonight .

OP posts:

Celebrations here OP me single, daughter single, M&S meal deal & Prosecco, have the most fantastic evening.

Laughing at the faux what is 'galantines' from the usual mob, it's amazing these people can use MN but struggle to use Google Hmm but of course that isn't the case it's just an excuse to be a cunt.

Single ladies have a good one.

CasuirDubh · 14/02/2025 15:36

Galentines has been a thing for fifteen years after it was in an episode of Parks and Recreation in 2010.

And she said it was a typo and that the thread is about support. Maybe if people can't be supportive they can ignore the thread.

I'm sorry the thread was ruined OP. I hope you're OK.

Not really sure why many of the above have commented; totally unkind and unnecessary neoprene you have a nice eve OP and anyone else revelry separated or struggling.

Single here after breaking up with my cheating ex two weeks ago. 👋🏻

Felt a little low this morning but realised even if I was still with my ex, he'd have put in minimum effort for today and would have likely done something to upset me anyway.

Am picking up my new rescue cat shortly, can't wait to bring him home. Looking forward to some cat cuddles this weekend.

@superplumb big hugs, that's so hard

Clytemnestra21 · 14/02/2025 17:29

And you @bananascentedhair

Clytemnestra21 · 14/02/2025 17:31

Hope you're okay @grimmeeper, ignore the grumpiness. I really appreciate your thread. I'm not feeling it at all save for the fact my primary age daughter loves any sort of decorative celebration and was thrilled with some hart shaped hammy dodgers. So that's been my highlight.

Clytemnestra21 · 14/02/2025 17:32

Heart-shaped jammy dodgers - smashed phone screen makes typos even worse!

Clytemnestra21 · 14/02/2025 17:33

@ghostyslovesheets love your post

🙄

I have seen it all now. This has got to be some commercial American thing that’s made its way to the UK now, right?

It started as a joke on Parks & Recreation years ago - it was supposed to be corny and more than a little cringy.
