TW CSA - not descriptive- feeling a bit sad and overwhelmed, anyone else?

I experienced CSA from age 5 to 9 and then again as a teen.
had loads of therapy, I work a bit in this area so have lots of good training and supervision too.
but sometimes it just all feels so much. It was decades ago, but right now it’s just heavy in a way I can’t explain. There seems to be triggers after trigger in the news and I feel alone and flat and small.
anyone else?

i have no words, I’m sorry this happened to you.

the only comment I have is our local police force are running a campaign about historic CSA. Encouraging people to report, but from an “if you feel ready, it may help you” angle, rather than any realistic chance of prosecution in many cases.

have your reported it? Would it help you to do so?

Life can be very cruel. Stay strong.

OP, I'm so sorry you went through that, it happened to me too, from 3 (maybe earlier) until 8 or 9, I'm currently having therapy for it after getting to breaking point, it'd slowly been building up for years until I couldn't even go the the hairdressers without feeling panicky and like I needed to get out of there. The therapy has really helped, I feel a lot more me again, but occasionally I see a story in the news that gets to me, but worse is seeing people minimise or dismiss it and that feels pretty distressing.

I don't know what the answer is to be honest, but you're not alone.

Thanks everyone
@Naunet yes the dismissing is really triggering. And also, in a weird way, the responses to recent issues (eg the Glasgow gang) , with the police and media all over it, just highlights how much it was ignored at the time and my experience will never get justice.
ahh I don’t know, sometimes it’s all okay and ‘a long time ago’ and then it’s right here with me.
