Somebody i know shouted at me a while back. It came out of the blue and i asked them to explain themselves but they kept shooting. I was very upset and have now kept away from them. I want to know why they shouted but was told to ask. I think they should approach me not me approach them. I was very frightened by their unexplained outburst

If someone shouts at you, they should apologize to you first; it's their responsibility to acknowledge their inappropriate behavior and express remorse for yelling at you before you approach them to discuss the situation further.

Just don't bother with them again.

Er, yes then. There is not much to go on here OP. You don’t explain the relationship or the situation when the incident occurred. If it’s just someone you know casually you can just ignore them?

They shouldn’t have shouted, and if they expect to carry on engaging with you they should apologise. Will you accept the apology?

Were you looking for advice?

Yes i would accept their apology after hearing why they shouted but that doesnt mean i would want to interact with them again.

They could see how upset I was at the time so any decent person would come and apologize and if they can't do that then I think there is something wrong with them

Again, just don't bother with them. If you don't want to interact with them then don't. If they haven't given you an apology by now you probably aren't going to get one.

PerkyOchrePeer · 05/01/2025 16:47

Life is too short to put up with this and there are plenty of decent people to interact with good riddance
