Anyone else hate NYE?

As above really- does anyone else find this time of year (particularly New Year’s Eve) a very depressing time of year? When I was younger I always loved celebrating a new year but nowadays it just serves to remind me how ‘stuck’ I am in life and I regret not doing anything about it (marriage mainly) years ago. I do have a plan in place fwiw- sadly it means I have to endure life as it is for around another year before my ducks are more in a row and I can leave (complicated circumstances).
My plan is to go to bed and be asleep at midnight - it hasn’t helped me the past few days though! Not looking for advice per se, just wondering if I’m not the only one!

I hate it too. I always go to bed but then get woken up by fireworks, only tonight they started about an hour ago and are still going on. The kids in the flat upstairs are running to the window whenever one goes off, it sounds like a herd of elephants.

I can never understand the whole "we must celebrate new years eve" and set off fireworks.

I think I've had two really good New years eves back in my 20s when I used to go clubbing.

I wish I liked it, but I don’t.
Tomorrow will just be the same as today. Shit.
I’m going to bed. Teen autistic son is coding and doesn’t want to be in the same room as me anyway.
The cat is already asleep, so it’s only me and I can’t be bothered staying up alone.

I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either. I just go to bed early and treat it like any other day.

Yes, another year further away from family and pets who are no longer with me and a year closer to the grim reaper...

What is it with fireworks? I have no problem with them, as such, but why start at 9.30 pm when we aren't even in the new year yet?
I've heard more this evening than I ever heard on bonfire night.

Really dislike it. It always reminds me of the fact that we have no friends close enough to spend it with. Everyone is at everyone else's houses and we never get an invite, as everyone is closer to other people, if that makes sense.

I can't stand it. Never could to be honest. It will all be over with this time tomorrow and I absolutely cannot wait. I'm not a party animal at the best of times.

Yet another year without my Dad in it too as he died over three years ago now.

New Year doesn't make me happy, it makes me melancholy.

I hate New Years Day more and always have.
It has always had a "day of reckoning" feel where you realise how much you spent over Xmas, that you now have to face all the jobs you put off until after Xmas, that the fun of Xmas is over & Spring seems miles away!

Then add in the idea of New Year resolutions like going on a diet or doing Dry January on top...
Horrible!

Oh dear, that’s so depressingly true!
