Spot on. You need a non trivial budget to date! www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2024/nov/09/how-much-does-dating-cost-pay-bill-apps

Not necessarily costs I experience, but what about grooming/ clothes as well to look like we care? 😋 (A bit tongue in cheek obviously!)

Find that from date 2/3 it becomes a lot more expensive as people want to do activities/ travel/ go to shows etc. And then there’s weekends away, special treats for new partner, holidays…

May as well quit while ahead 😂 In all seriousness I do notice my budget taking a hit when I fancy someone as social life and looking nice is expensive

Exactly! Not cheap. A couple of hundred minimums if you are serious about finding someone!

It's one of the reasons why it always surprises me to find unemployed people on dating websites - how can you date with no money?

TwistedWonder · 17/11/2024 14:15

First few dates I prefer to to for drinks so it’s not overly expensive early days. But yes as time goes on there’s likely to be more nights out, weekends away etc which definitely adds up.

Last man I dated for a couple of years we were out most weekends and that often included a hotel plus dinner so definitely a lot of money was spent.
