Missing DS

I'm missing my little boy so much. He's away with his dad for the weekend and I feel bereft that he's not here.
Sometimes it all feels a bit too much.

You need to start getting out and doing things for yourself when he’s away to fill your time. Meet friends. Have a pamper day at home then watch your favourite movies with a glass of wine and a bestie. Go on a date with someone from OLD. Start an online course and do some professional development and work on it when he’s away. Whatever it is, do something for yourself that makes you feel good and distracts you from watching the clock.

Make the most of positive time for you. All the better for DS too when you're ok.

I read "away with father for the weekend" to mean he's on a little trip with his Dad and you're still together and was gonna suggest you try do things for just yourself, things you won't get to do when dad and son are home, ,get your fave takeaway (or takeaways)? Take lots of naps etc.

But I see some of the replies mention online dating, so I must have misunderstood and its a regular thing with and he's with you ex, in which case I agree with the suggestion to start getting out and doing things for yourself. If it's a recent split you might not feel like dating yet but you can start making new friends and doing new things, take up new hobbies and make new friends. It might seem hard now but as you adjust you'll come to appreciate having the time to focus on your own interests.

My sister split with her dh last year and found it very rough, I totally understand you finding it hard but it does get easier, my sister obv still misses her kids but she never ever got any time to herself before and having every other weekend to catch up with friends or take up hobbies has improved her confidence and mental health massively. You'll be ok with time.

You will probably get to a point one day where you look forward to the time alone; mine are much older but their father has never once had them overnight never mind a weekend what I would give for a weekend to myself 🥲
