Love is...

Letting your partner sleep! A happy thread for a change 🙂

We are in the weeds right now with a very young toddler and a newborn. I'm someone who really needs sleep, DH can function on less.

This wonderful man stays up most of the night with our reflux-y newborn so that I can sleep. He hands the baby to me to breastfeed in the night then takes baby straight back so I can get more sleep. He then gets up and goes to work with a smile on his face.

He's a brilliant husband in so many ways, and his sleep sacrifice is just the latest way he shows me how much he cares. Who needs diamonds? Sleep is way better!

Would love to read other 'love is...' anecdotes. They always make me smile.

This was nice to read OP, I’m glad you have such a supportive partner

Love is putting your bad day to one side when your partner has had an even worse day. It’s being a team mate who is supportive and loyal. It’s cuddles in the kitchen and chats about life. It’s seeing them in their good, bad and ugly and still choosing them everyday ❤️

This made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Lovely comment ❤️

That’s good to hear op.
My dh was just the same, always told me to go back to sleep after feeding and he would settle baby.

My dd has a wonderful dh too. When she was pregnant and apologised for not doing much one day he replied ‘ you have done something, you’ve been growing a baby. That’s more important than anything I’ve done today.’

So very ovely. It must be a great feeling to know your DD has found a good partner.

Being cuddled back to sleep by DH when my horrible insomnia kicks in. Even though I've woken him up by mistake with all my wiggling.

A partner who supports you through your studies and tells you how proud of you they are. Also an unasked for cup of tea- just because they think you need one!
