Hey,

Thankfully to the wonderful people on here and their advice I have plucked up the courage to ask my husband to move out and he has.
Although it's awful I'm already feeling like a weight has lifted. .
Now my thoughts turn to double checking my figures
I have used a benefit calculator online and wondered if anyone knows how accurate these are?

I currently work 24hrs and earn under £17k. I libe in a mortgage property and husband is ok leaving and we sell when kids are older. He said he will pay maintenance which I think may be around £450 for two kids.

Is there anything else I have missed? It says I should possibly be entitled to around £200 universal credit. I work the hours so I don't have to pay childcare otherwise I'd work full time. I hate the idea Id have to rely on this payment too.

Any help on this all or advice on how to sort kids (15&4) between us going forward would be wonderful x

The only way to be sure is to make a claim - do it tonight xx

You can make a claim. The job centre will expect you to work 30 hours per week though as you have a child over 3. They can pay up to 85% of your childcare fees if you do increase your hours and need childcare. If you stay doing the 24 hours they will want you to go in to the job centre weekly for the first 13 weeks and then fortnightly after that.
There is a work allowance, if you do not get help with housing costs (which you won't because you are not renting) your UC payment will start to reduce when your monthly wages reach £673. They are reduced by 0.55p for every pound you earn over that amount.

Hi OP, @Ibloodylovetea is right, the only way you can know precisely what you'll get is to start a UC claim: https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/how-to-claim
The benefit calculators are pretty accurate, but like all software, "garbage in, garbage out" so you need to be careful entering your info.
You can also use this link to check how much child maintenance you'd be entitled to: https://www.gov.uk/calculate-child-maintenance
Best of luck for the future! 😊

Universal Credit

Universal Credit is replacing 6 other benefits with a single monthly payment if you're out of work or on a low income - eligibility, how to prepare.
