Has anyone done this and how did you find it? I’ve just watched a couple of YouTube videos where they describe Mr Right and Mr Wrong but what if your partner is both? I’m on the waiting list to complete this course with Women’s Aid soon.

The freedom program profiles different types of abusers i.e the bad father, the bully, headworker jailer etc. It also does a bit at the end of each chapter showing positive behaviours/green flags to look out for in future relationships. Its normal for abusers to show some positive traits which is usually why women stay with them because we remember the nice bits and question ourselves over and over again as to why the bad stuff happens. What is really positive about the freedom programme is that other women will open up about their experiences and you be with other women who have also been through similar situations to yourself.

That sounds really positive, thanks. I’m hoping to do the course face to face with other women who have experienced similar. Yes, my confusion comes from my husband being a Jekyll and Hyde character. He can be so lovely, supportive, kind and generous and he can also be vicious and abusive. It’s confusing as he’s not completely one thing.
