Which are the popular or better ones to try? I’m newly single, 40 and not wanting to meet sleezebags šŸ™ˆ

If you dont want sleazebags then real life is your best bet.

Definitely avoid plenty of fish. My friend liked Bumble as it put the woman in control as the woman sends the first message if you both like each other. I liked OK Cupid as you get to see lots of information about the person (if they’d bothered to fill it all in) and you can only be message if you both like each other so less unsolicited pictures (this is a problem on plenty of fish). I’ve thought of tinder as purely for one night stands but I dont think that’s always the case. I paid for match for a bit and did like it but I didn’t have much success on it.

Really?! Thanks! I’ve never used dating apps before. Are they that bad?

Thank you. I’ll try bumble. It came up 1st in my App Store.

They are worse than you can possibly imagine I'm afraid 🤬

Good luck, you do need your wits about you and have a bit of a thick skin. There are plenty of men on them that just want a one night stand (which is great if that’s what you are looking for but I wasn’t) & I suspect a fair few that are married. I got some crass offers from out of nowhere which were unappreciated. If you want a relationship then I think waiting till the 3rd date to go back to one of your houses helps to weed out those that are just after one night. I’ve had luck without any terrible experiences but it can take time to find someone right and I suspect it differs area by area. I’m on the outskirts of a city but not London and I think that’s probably easier as there is a decent pool of single men around my age. I think in London people get married later so probably separate later. People on other treads have said that men always want younger women. I have experienced that a bit but have also had quite a bit of interest from those the same age and younger than me. I’m currently in my second LTR that came from a dating app.

There all as bad as each other with all the same people on them! That said I met my boyfriend on Facebook dating.
