Judging our relationship

At work a colleague asked how long I had been with my partner as she remembered us getting together. I said it is 2 years now. Her line manager asked if we were living together, I said no. Then she gives unsolicited advice saying after 2 years of this it won’t go anywhere.

I said there are circumstances involved then briefly explained he has had to go reduced hours due to physical injuries of his job and I would not want to pressure someone to move in financially as we are long distance. She did not say anything then. I know I should not have had to explain myself but why do people feel then need to judge others relationships?

We are very happy together and he is currently working with the doctor and physios to get his health back. He is planning his exit strategy out of that toxic workplace as they won’t provide reasonable adjustments even though he has an official autism diagnosis and doctors note with his injuries.

I think you’re in the best position, being unmarried and not living together.

People judge all the time. It's human nature. They shouldn't of shared their thoughts with you unsolicited though. You need to learn to not be bothered by what people think! If you're happy then what does it matter what others may think?!
