Hey guys ! I'm wanting to get back on the dating scene, I'm 28 and the last time I was single I was 19 🙈🤣 I have uni , work and don't like going out to clubs so figured maybe the apps could help a good option as it seems to be the way now ? I'm not sure haha

So ..

Is tinder just for hooking up ? Is hinge more for long term ?

If you are after a serious relationship what app would you be on ?

Also if anyone has any tips for weeding out the bad men and how long you were on the apps before you met your partner would love to hear a story 🤣

Thank you xxx

I honestly think all apps are more or less the same and have a mix of people, some just looking for the ego boost of matches/flirty messages with no real intention of even meeting up, some looking for fun/sex casually, some looking for dates & something casual in that sense (as in not exclusive) and then some looking for genuine relationships. I’m married and so haven’t been on these apps ever but we have quite a few friends who use them (male and female) all mostly use Tinder and Hinge, none of them have met long term partners on there but have had quite a few short term dates/meeting up etc, but in amongst that a lot who are just after the compliment of being wanted or are looking for casual sex. But to be honest that’s the case whether you meet someone online or in the local pub x

Thank you for commenting 🤍 yes this is the thought process I keep going around with. A part of me thinks it's a great opportunity to get talking to some men who may never have approached me in real life otherwise. Then I think it's full of men who just only be after one thing but then you could absolutely fine the same out in a club or pub couldn't you ? Xx

Yes absolutely!! Whether you look online or in a pub you could find someone who wants marriage and kids, someone who wants a few dates, someone who wants casual sex or someone who just likes to have a flirt. Doing it online is sort of more efficient (how romantic😂) because it means instead of going out 10 weekends in a row and speaking to 1 person at the pub each weekend, you can “match” and have the initial chat with 10 people in the space of a couple hours on an app. Whether it’s the best way to meet the love of your life, who knows, but it does streamline things a bit! X
